Here at Paws On the Go, we aim to bridge the accessibility gap between vet care and pet parents. We believe no pet should be without vet care due to pet fear or accessibility. We offer experienced, minimal stress, personal pet care and provide you with peace of mind knowing your pet is cared for by an insured and licensed veterinary medical professional.

Hi, I'm RVT Chelsey! As I'm sure you can guess, I have always been the "Animal Person". As a kid I loved bandaging up my stuffed animals with tissue paper and craft tape casts, with dreams of being Dr. Doolittle! Naturally, when it came time to declare what I wanted to be when I grew up; "A Vet!" Was my answer year after year! So, after graduating from CCI EAST I left hometown Cobourg and began my studies at The University of Guelph in 2012 to make my veterinary dreams come true! That is, until I noticed over the years while gaining experience through clinics in Guelph and volunteering at the Toronto Wildlife Center that the jobs I found most fulfilling were those of a Veterinary Technician! And so, I swapped my tissue paper and tape in for some better gear, completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Biology and Zoology, and enrolled in the veterinary technician program at Sheridan College in Brampton. I successfully completed the requirements for licensing next and after passing the Veterinary Technicians National Examination (VTNE) in 2019, I became a Registered Veterinary Technician!
My RVT career took off immediately as I continued to gain experience and learn from some of our best veterinary professionals in Northumberland at Cobourg's Midtown Animal Hospital! It was during my amazing 5+ years here that I noticed something is missing in veterinary care, too many times I have seen pets and owners alike struggle to accesses their veterinary team. So, when I had the opportunity to make a change after moving 800 km north to Sault Ste. Marie in 2024 - Paws On The Go was born!
I am now beyond proud to be able to bring my services back to my home town where it started as just a simple wish to help bring accessibility to veterinary care in my community.
When I'm not out meeting you and your furry family, you can always find mine close in tow! Sylvie, my chocolate lab puts the retrieve in retriever. As a fetch-fanatic you will find us out year-round enjoying nature anywhere you can find a stick or ball. While my senior kitty Judy is ready to cuddle up and hunker in as we watch movies, read a book or crochet.
